Part Time RANT...

Part time rant you ask what is that?  Well this post is about my industry.  Realtor’s to be more specific.  I am getting tired, very tired of trying to get Realtors to return phone calls - answer questions about client issues or contact them about all sort of professional issues – and you know why?  Their cell phones are disconnected, they don’t return calls for days or their brokerages have no idea where they are.  They are part time Realtors and in most cases their clients don’t even know they are part time. In my opinion if a client is not aware that their agent is part time they should have every right to cancel their representation agreement with them.  Oh did I say that – You bet I did!  There is no reason you should place your trust and confidence in representing your needs when you think that this is their profession when in fact they are “just trying it out”.  Give me a break!  Unfortunately there are many agents out there and very few professionals

Choose your agent carefully and ask lots of questions. This business is for the professionals only.

Re:Part Time RANT...
I had a great experience with this the other day. I went to preview a listing and couldn't get the key to work. In the agent comments it said "Call *** (listing agent) if you have trouble with the key". I called said listing agent, 3 times. The house has been on the market about 475 days...wonder why? Why hasn't the listing agent suggested getting a new key made or replacing the lock? There is my rant Darrin! :)

Re:Part Time RANT...
Instructions to call the listing agent that is busy at their day job - exceedingly frustrating!

Here is my rant - My buyers want a specific house that is listed as a short sale - we have an offer in on the property - I have to call for updates, and generally only get one response for every three requests...always after 6pm...

Our offer was submitted to the listing agent in January - and as late as MAY they did not have a negotiator assigned, and therefore zero forward progress. *I* contacted the bank with the loan number, etc and let them know my buyer was walking if we didn't have progress - they ordered an appraisal the same day and assigned a negotiator. We should close by month's end...

Turns out the "full-time" Realtor that had the property listed only left after hour messages every two weeks...because he was busy at his day job during the bank's business hours.

UNREAL!

Part-timers CANNOT adequately represent their clients - especially as a short sale listing agent!!!

MOVE OVER and let the professionals - the full time professionals - handle these people that need 100% effort!
