Selling Your Home

Defining communication:

What does communication mean? A simple question but a complicated answer. Why – communication is a subjective term dependent upon each individual’s expectations. Most every Realtor’s definition of communication is different but what is consistent is the delivery – it’s lacking. When asked, most home sellers say the communication was lacking in their home sale. Why is this – not because the Realtor did not want to provide the communication. In fact most agents had every intention of communicating every step along the way but they did not have the resources to get the job done. By that I mean they did not have the time or personal to communicate. You see most Realtors work for a company or franchise but they are in business for themselves (independent contractors) and all the day-to-day communication is up to them. This works out ok if you are only selling a few homes a year (average agent sells 7.5 homes per year) unfortunately they cannot do all the items listed under Finding a Buyer if they are selling an average amount of homes. In fact to be able to do all the successful marketing were talking about you need to sell nearly 10x that amount. Why – It takes money to market property, pay quality staff and experience to make it work.
